Snow Cancellation and Delay Policy
Winters on the Palmer Divide are unpredictable. Occasionally, winter weather will force us to make changes in our regularly scheduled ministries. If we must cancel or change services, we will do so as soon as possible and make that information available immediately. Any time you wonder whether a Sunday service or a ministry activity will be held as scheduled, check for details at the following:
• KRDO, KOAA, OR KKTV radio, television, and websites
• Rocky Mountain Info Net at http://www.flashalertcs.net/
• The recorded message at 481-3600
In addition, ministry leaders will attempt to call all volunteers scheduled for that event if at all possible.
Sunday Worship
If we encounter extreme blizzard conditions on a Sunday morning that make travel dangerous or impossible, we could cancel all services. More likely, heavy or blowing snow might cause us to delay our start times. If you check the information sources above and find we are on a Delayed Sunday Schedule, that means:
• 8:30 a.m. service cancelled
• 10:00 a.m. service, Adult classes, Tiny Town, Adventure Quest, Elevate, and Student Worship as scheduled
• 11:30 a.m. service, Adult classes, Tiny Town, Adventure Quest, Elevate, and Student Worship as scheduled
Refresh – a Ministry for Women
This includes morning and evening Bible studies and Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)
• If school is cancelled in District 38, all daytime and evening activities are cancelled.
• If a delayed start is scheduled in District 38, all daytime activities are cancelled.
• If Awana is cancelled, evening Bible studies are cancelled
Awana
• If school is cancelled in District 38, all activities are cancelled
• If heavy snow starts after school has started, our children’s director and pastoral staff will make a decision no later than 3:00 p.m. Awana leaders will be contacted as soon as possible.
Base Camps (both family and student groups)
Your Base Camp leader will make the decision if winter weather affects your normal meeting time. We do not monitor each group’s schedule, so we are unable to post that information. Check directly with your group leader if you have questions.
Safety is always our first concern and would rather err on the side of caution. The ultimate decision is yours. If activities are still scheduled as planned, but you feel it unwise to travel, please stay home! We want you and your family to stay safe.
